Eating out with kids in Sevilla

Sevilla's oldest restaurant

On Friday night we ventured out through the narrow streets of Sevilla pushing our children in their rickety Target umbrella strollers.  The sidewalks are so narrow in places an adult male cannot fit standing sideways.  It's part of the charm of Sevilla's old town.  The restaurant is about a 10 minute walk from our apartment.  We had read it was 'kid friendly" on a website called Delicious Baby.  Well, take a peek at the pictures below and see what you think.

I think the cured hams are meant to be the kids play area.  Perhaps they can swing from them like monkeys?   We have yet to see a child's high chair in Sevilla.  The parents out with small children either have them in strollers or on their laps.  Interesting.  Perhaps a high chair business plan is in order?  Well, the dinner started off pretty well.  The kids food came quickly and they dug in.  The problems started when our food didn't arrive for another 45 minutes.  Well, you can imagine how that worked out for my 22 month old.  One a positive note, the food was good, and  we discovered a little nook on the far end of the bar where the kids can kind of run around.  Our plan next time will be to order tapas from the bar, let the kids be free, and feed them by hand as the dishes come out.  Live and learn.  Who needs high chairs?
