The Shaws are in the house

Grant and Laura arrived safely yesterday, but unfortunately missed their connecting flight in Madrid and had to hang out in the airport for several hours.  Grant also lost Laura for an hour or so in the airport.  When we called him he was frantically searching the airport terminal for the seventh time and starting to draw the attention of airport security.  Turns out Laura wasn’t kidnapped by Basque separatists as was feared, but was simply sleeping in the terminal.

Ali picked them up at their hotel and we spent the evening listening to music, talking and drinking Spanish wine while the kids ran wild around the apartment.  I gave them the scenic route walk home and we had a nightcap on the rooftop bar of their hotel, which has spectacular views of the cathedral.  Good first night.

Today, we toured the Alcazar after grabbing lunch near their hotel.  The weather was amazing and we all had a nice day.  Their culinary tour of Sevilla starts tonight.  We have our twin babysitters lined up for the next 4 nights and will be taking them to our favorite tapas restaurants.  A Pettigrew “Greatest Hits” tapas tour if you will.  Looking forward to enjoying some good food and wine over the next few days.  Stay tuned for pics.
